I swiped right and so did she.
We met in a moonlit park (her idea) beneath a cluster of ancient oaks (my idea) and one of the first things that struck me was her intense gaze (glittering and unfathomable).
“Wow, your eyes are like starlight,” I said.
A sharp smile. She swept unruly curls over her shoulders and reached silently for my face, her touch an unfurling darkness. I shuddered, my body stiffening.
“What—what’s happening?” I mumbled, my lips suddenly rigid.
My final thought as my arteries hardened, as my heart ossified in my chest:
Should have swiped left.
