Earlier I mistyped “blazing bullocks" as “blazing buttocks" on a friend’s blog. Oops. Thinking about it now though, it could've been worse (if you're a Brit, you'll definitely know what I mean). But not quite as bad as the time I mistyped “Coke” as something naughty. Thankfully that was also to a friend and in an email! Man, sometimes I need to slow down when I type, particularly when in public.
This got me thinking about typos and I remembered Damn You Autocorrect from a few years ago. The site looks like it hasn’t been updated in a few years but you can still see the older content. I love it.
In other news, I’ve been re-watching my way through The X Files from the very beginning. I’ve just got to season three and it’s bringing out a lot of nostalgia for me! One thing I notice more and more nowadays, though, is how damn often Mulder and Scully say each other's names. I mean, it's like every sentence.
“This is weird, Scully."
"What's weird, Mulder?"
"This weird thing right here, Scully."
"I'm sorry, I just don't see it, Mulder."
"Damnit, Scully!"
It just sounds so unnatural, especially given they're often the only two people in a scene.
Ah, but I still love The X Files, and my gripe isn't big enough to stop me from relishing every second—even the cheesy plots, silly monsters and 90s fashion.
